Clinical

”Beth has excellent instincts for exactly how to massage, I always feel completely relaxed and in safe hands”

The main aim of clinical massage is to help relieve/reduce soft tissue pain/dysfunction.

Advanced clinical techniques such as trigger point therapy and myofascial release are used in this treatment alongside deep tissue massage, acupressure, stretching and hot stone massage.

I work in a holistic way and so look at the body as a whole with the understanding that pain is often referred.  I’m also aware of the mind body connection and so aim to treat you as a whole person as opposed to just your specific symptoms.

Whilst there are no guarantees that massage will be effective in ‘healing’ soft tissue pain (pain conditions are often complex), it will be helpful in releasing tension, improving localized blood, lymph flow, increasing body awareness, improving range of motion and reducing painful spasms and nerve compression.

Home care advice such as specific stretches or self treatment of trigger points are provided for you to do in between sessions which is important for reducing recovery time and the number of treatments needed as well as putting you back in control of your own healing.
